I picked up the DWIL Frosted Glass Paint for Window – Window Privacy Paint, Waterproof & UV Resistant, Frosted Glass Spray, for Bathroom, Kitchen, Room, Sliding Door, 16oz (with tools) from DWIL after needing a quick privacy solution for my home office in Houston. At $32, I wasn’t expecting much, but this window privacy paint turned out to be exactly what I needed. As someone who spent years in the Marine Corps, I appreciate products that do what they claim without the marketing nonsense. This spray delivers on that front.
My situation was straightforward. I have a sliding glass door in my office that faces the street, and I wanted privacy without losing natural light completely. The frosted glass finish seemed like the right middle ground between blackout curtains and complete transparency. The DWIL Frosted Glass Paint for Window – Window Privacy Paint, Waterproof & UV Resistant, Frosted Glass Spray, for Bathroom, Kitchen, Room, Sliding Door, 16oz (with tools) comes with application tools, which saved me from hunting down additional equipment. That inclusion matters when you’re trying to keep a project budget-conscious.
Why the DWIL Frosted Glass Paint for Window – Window Privacy Paint, Waterproof & UV Resistant, Frosted Glass Spray, for Bathroom, Kitchen, Room, Sliding Door, 16oz (with tools) Stands Out
The application process was cleaner than I expected. The spray mechanism is consistent, and the frosted finish goes on evenly when you follow basic prep work. I cleaned the glass thoroughly, masked off the surrounding areas, and applied two light coats rather than one heavy coat. That technique gave me the best results. The coverage is solid for a 16oz can, and I had enough left over to touch up a bathroom window as well.
What impressed me most was the actual durability. The waterproof and UV resistant properties aren’t just marketing claims on this product. After several weeks of exposure to Houston’s brutal sun and humidity, the finish hasn’t faded or peeled. I’ve run my finger across it multiple times, and it’s holding strong. When I looked at recommended products from other users, the DWIL Frosted Glass Paint for Window – Window Privacy Paint, Waterproof & UV Resistant, Frosted Glass Spray, for Bathroom, Kitchen, Room, Sliding Door, 16oz (with tools) kept showing up in discussions about long-term performance, and now I understand why.
The frosted effect itself is genuinely functional. You can’t see through it from outside, but light still comes through during the day. My office isn’t a cave anymore, which was the goal. I can work without people walking past seeing directly into my space. It’s a practical solution that’s less permanent than film but more durable than temporary options.
Would I Buy the DWIL Frosted Glass Paint for Window – Window Privacy Paint, Waterproof & UV Resistant, Frosted Glass Spray, for Bathroom, Kitchen, Room, Sliding Door, 16oz (with tools) Again
Yes, absolutely. I’d buy this product again without hesitation. It does exactly what it claims, it’s reasonably priced, and the included tools eliminate the need for extra purchases. If I need to apply it to other windows or doors around my house, I won’t hesitate to order another can. The frosted glass finish holds up to Houston’s climate, which is no small thing when you’re dealing with constant heat and humidity.
I should mention that this product works for more than just one application.
