I recently picked up the Gama Sonic Imperial Bulb V2 Outdoor Solar Lamp Post Light, Black Aluminum, Single Lamp with 3-inch Fitter for Posts or Pier Mount (Sold Separately), Warm White 2700K, 37B50012 from Gama Sonic and wanted to share my honest take on this solar lamp post light. At $152.99, it’s a solid investment for anyone looking to upgrade their outdoor lighting setup without running electrical wires. I’ve installed plenty of outdoor equipment over the years, and this one caught my attention because it promises reliability and clean aesthetics. After spending time with it, I can tell you whether it delivers.
Why the Gama Sonic Imperial Bulb V2 Outdoor Solar Lamp Post Light, Black Aluminum, Single Lamp with 3-inch Fitter for Posts or Pier Mount (Sold Separately), Warm White 2700K, 37B50012 Stands Out
The first thing I noticed was the build quality. The black aluminum construction feels substantial without being heavy. Coming from a Marine background, I appreciate equipment that’s built to last, and this lamp post light shows that attention to detail. The 2700K warm white output gives off a welcoming glow that’s easy on the eyes, unlike some cheaper solar lights that produce that harsh white glare. The 3-inch fitter design is straightforward, though you do need to source your own post or pier mount separately, which I found mentioned clearly in the product description.
Installation took about fifteen minutes on a standard four-by-four post. The solar panel charges reliably during the day even on cloudy Houston afternoons, and the battery maintains a solid charge for the evening hours. I’ve added this to my list of recommended products because it performs exactly as advertised. The Gama Sonic Imperial Bulb V2 Outdoor Solar Lamp Post Light, Black Aluminum, Single Lamp with 3-inch Fitter for Posts or Pier Mount (Sold Separately), Warm White 2700K, 37B50012 doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not, and that honesty is refreshing in the solar lighting market.
Where it shines is consistency. I’ve been using solar lights for years, and many of them fade or become unreliable after a season or two. This unit has held up well through Houston’s heat and humidity. The warm white bulb maintains its color temperature without dimming noticeably over time. The battery capacity is adequate for typical evening use, though you won’t get all-night brightness if you’re expecting stadium-level illumination. That’s a realistic limitation, not a design flaw.
The one consideration is that the Gama Sonic Imperial Bulb V2 Outdoor Solar Lamp Post Light, Black Aluminum, Single Lamp with 3-inch Fitter for Posts or Pier Mount (Sold Separately), Warm White 2700K, 37B50012 requires a suitable mounting post. If you don’t have one, you’ll need to purchase that separately, which adds to your total investment. The 3-inch fitter is pretty standard, so sourcing a compatible post isn’t difficult, but it’s worth factoring into your budget planning.

The Gama Sonic Imperial Bulb V2 Outdoor Solar Lamp Post Light, Black Aluminum, Single Lamp with 3-inch Fitter for Posts or Pier Mount (Sold Separately), Warm White 2700K, 37B50012 delivers reliable performance at a fair price point. It’s not the cheapest option on the market, but it’s not overpriced either.
