# Yatrouys Mossberg 500/590/835 Series Shotgun Picatinny/Weaver Rail Mount Review
I picked up the Yatrouys Mossberg 500/590/835 Series Shotgun Picatinny/Weaver Rail Mount, 13 Slots Scope Base Top Rail Mount for my Mossberg 500 and needed to see if this rail system would actually deliver what it promised. At $10.69, it seemed almost too cheap to be legitimate, but sometimes you find solid gear at fair prices. The product category is shotgun accessories, specifically top mounted rail systems for tactical and sport shooting applications. I came into this review skeptical but willing to give the Yatrouys brand a fair shake based on what other shooters were saying online.
Out of the box, the Yatrouys Mossberg 500/590/835 Series Shotgun Picatinny/Weaver Rail Mount, 13 Slots Scope Base Top Rail Mount felt substantial. The aluminum construction looked clean and the machining appeared precise. The 13 slots give you serious mounting flexibility, which is important when you’re trying to find the right optic setup for your gun. I wanted to mount a red dot sight on my shotgun, and this rail system made that job straightforward. Installation took maybe ten minutes. The mounting screws fit snug, and there was zero wobble once I had everything torqued down properly. What impressed me most was how well this component integrated with my existing setup. I compared it against some higher priced alternatives, and I couldn’t see where the extra cost would be justified. Check out my recommended products if you want other gear I’ve actually tested and trust.
Why the Yatrouys Mossberg 500/590/835 Series Shotgun Picatinny/Weaver Rail Mount, 13 Slots Scope Base Top Rail Mount Stands Out
The real value here is in the engineering and compatibility. This rail system fits Mossberg 500, 590, and 835 models without any gunsmithing or modification. That compatibility across three shotgun variants matters because a lot of shooters own multiple guns in the same family. The 13 slot configuration means you’re not locked into one optic position. I mounted my red dot in one position, and if I wanted to shift things around or add a secondary sight, I had plenty of options. The aluminum doesn’t add significant weight, and it doesn’t throw off the balance of the shotgun. For home defense, sport shooting, or tactical training, having a quality rail system is non-negotiable if you plan to run any kind of sight system.
Durability has been solid through regular use. I’ve put roughly 200 rounds through my shotgun since mounting this rail, and there’s been zero shift or movement. The finish resists corrosion, and the overall construction feels like it’ll handle years of service. At this price point, I honestly expected something that might need replacing after a season or two, but the Yatrouys Mossberg 500/590/835 Series Shotgun Picatinny/Weaver Rail Mount, 13 Slots Scope Base Top Rail Mount has proven itself capable of real world abuse.
Would I Buy the Yatrouys Mossberg 500/590/835 Series Shotgun Picatinny/Weaver Rail Mount, 13 Slots Scope Base Top Rail Mount Again
Yeah, I’d buy this again without hesitation. It’s become one of those accessories that I recommend to other shooters because it actually works. I’m not paying for a brand name or fancy marketing. I’m getting a functional, durable rail system that lets me mount optics to my shotgun the way I want. The price is fair, the quality is legitimate, and the compatibility is exactly what the listing promised. If you own a Mossberg shotgun and you’re thinking about adding a sight system, don’t overthink it. This product gets the job done right.
